KB Double ZeroHouse earns RESNET award for its HERS rating -- features Nexus Water Recycling System

Posted on October 2 , 2014 in News, Double ZeroHouse 2.0 by Josh

A Sept. 26th article by Greenbuilder Media, Double Zero: Net Zero Energy with an Eye Toward Water Conservation, reports that the Double ZeroHouse 2.0 in Lancaster, CA, was recently feted by RESNET as the best HERS-scoring home by a production builder in the nation. Current HERS ratings do not directly take into account water sustainability, though this was a big feature of the home's design.  The Double ZeroHouse uses on-site grey water recycling by Nexus eWater to supply all water needed for irrigation.

From the article:

"The high desert, drought-prone location also allowed KB Home to showcase their water conservation mechanism -  a new graywater recycling system from Nexus eWater. The system can treat up to 40,000 gallons of water a year for use as landscaping irrigation."
